Vermeulen and Wilson receive their DC verdicts

NEWS: Harry Wilson (Saracens) and Jacques Vermeulen (Exeter Chiefs) have both been slapped with bans for foul play.

The case of Wilson was heard by an independent disciplinary panel chaired by Jeremy Summers, sitting with Becky Essex and Olly Kohn.

Wilson was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13, during a Premiership game against Exeter Chiefs this past Saturday, January 25.

Wilson admitted the charge and received a three-match ban, which will be reduced to two if he completes the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme.

* The case of Vermeulen was heard on papers by the same panel.

Vermeulen was cited for a dangerous play in a ruck or maul, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.20, in the same Premiership game.

Vermeulen admitted the charge and received a two-match ban.
