Newport Gwent Dragons confirmed that flyhalf Steffan Jones has left the Welsh outfit and signed a permanent deal with Bedford Blues.

The Welshman was on a year-long loan to Bedford till the end of the season  but was recalled by the Dragons in November before heading off with the Wales Sevens team.

Dragons Director of Rugby, Lyn Jones, said: "Following Jones return to the Dragons and appearances with Wales Sevens, he  requested to be released from his Dragons playing contract so that he could concentrate on his rugby in Bedford.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Steffan for his contribution to the Dragons since joining and we wish him all the best with Bedford and in the future", Jones further added.
