Jones: Pro12 is exciting
Speaking ahead of Scarlets' Sunday game against Connacht, in third position, at Parc y Scarlets Jones expressed his delight at the competitive nature of the competition this season.
"It's exciting and keeps everybody on their toes. The reality is we're still top of the league, which is great.
"We've played 11 games and we're halfway through the season. We've put a lot of good things in place but we still have a lot of areas we need to tidy up on, that's the focus for us as coaches. The good thing for us is a lot of those things are in our control.
"We're into the final stretch, turned the corner and have it all to play for. I'm glad we are where we are but we have a lot to work on still."
Connacht, like the Scarlets, lost both of their Irish derbies over the festive period but Jones believes the Scarlets will concentrate on their own game to ensure the West Wales region get the season back on track.
"From our aspect, we'll make sure our house is in order to get back to winning ways, that's our goal. We're expecting a tough game because they're a tough opponent.
"They're a very good side. Statistically they're very good. They want to play open expansive rugby. We're looking forward to it, it will be a great challenge for us.”
Scarlets have won six of the last seven encounters between the two sides whilst Connacht have not beaten Scarlets on their own soil since a trip to Stradey Park in October 2004.
