Phillips out for season

Phillips, 28, had surgery earlier this week to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Phillips suffered the injury in Scarlets' 25-27 defeat to Cardiff Blues in the Pro12 on New Year's Day.

He had featured in all but one of Scarlets' 15 competitive fixtures so far this season after injury hampered his ability to play during the 2014-15 campaign.

Phillips has amassed 126 appearances for the region so far and three Welsh caps.

Andrew Walker, Scarlets Head of Medical, said: "Emyr underwent surgery to his knee on Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the current season.

"His rehab will begin immediately and he would expect to see him back to full fitness during the pre-season."
