Cape Town Sevens: NZ show BlitzBoks who's the boss
New Zealand will face Argentina in the Cup Final, after the South Americans narrowly beat Canada in the other Cup semifinal.
Cup semifinals:
South Africa 12-19 New Zealand
South Africa made a blistering start with captain Philip Snyman going over for a try after some great interplay inside the New Zealand half.
New Zealand got a player sent to the sin bin before Tim Mikkelson got his side on the scoreboard with a converted try.
But it was the BlitzBoks who ensured they had the lead at half-time when Cecil Afrika went over for a try. At half-time, the BlitzBoks were leading 12-7.
Vilimoni Koroi gave NZ the perfect start in the second half when he raced away for a try in the opening minute to level matters at 12-12.
With the clock winding down, New Zealand took the lead with two minutes left after a brilliant build-up in their own half to score a try.
The BlitzBoks tried to find an equalising score near the death, but it was not to be as New Zealand advanced to the Final.
Canada 12-14 Argentina
It was an evenly contested first half between Canada and Argentina in the second Cup semifinal.
After both sides scored a converted try each it looked like it will be all square at the break. However, Canada squeezed in a score just before half-time for a 12-7 lead.
Argentina took the lead after two minutes in the second half with a converted try.
That was the last bit of scoring in the game with Argentina hanging on to advance to the Final.
