Nanai-Williams soon to be Samoan

Tim Nanai-Williams will confirm his allegiance switch from New Zealand to Samoa in May.

The former New Zealand Sevens player will forego the Chiefs' bye week in Super Rugby to take part in the Glasgow round of the World Sevens series.

That will be his fourth tournament which meets the criteria allowing him to play all forms of rugby for Samoa.

Nanai-Williams is grateful for the support from the Chiefs organisation.

"Being the first one to do it, I had to get people on board and firstly it was them and they've been really behind me."

Nanai-Williams is nursing a lower leg injury following the Wellington Sevens but expects to be available for the opening round of Super Rugby this weekend.
