The speedster is currently on duty with the French XVs team for the November internationals.

France will, however, have experienced captain Terry Bouhraoua to call on. The stalwart has played 174 matches and scored 914 points during that period and will be joined by other familiar names Julien Candelon, Stephen Parez, Jonathan Laugel and Pierre-Gilles Lakafia in the season opener.

France finished 11th overall in the 2015/16 series, winning the Bowl (now called the Challenge Trophy) in Dubai. Their best performances of the series came in Cape Town and Paris, where they finished third on both occasions.

They will face Australia, Kenya and Japan in Pool D in Dubai.
