Smith is currently in the BlitzBoks squad for the Sydney Sevens this weekend.

He will head join up with the Lions squad after the fourth leg of the Sevens World Series in Hamilton next week.

Smith was one of the stars of the Lions Super Rugby campaign last year, but he was still ignored by Springboks head coach Allister Coetzee.
