Fuser in for injured Geldenhuys

Italy coach Jacques Brunel has called up Benetton Treviso lock Marco Fuser to his squad for the opening two Six Nations fixtures as a replacement for the injured Quintin Geldenhuys.

Geldenhuys, who has made 52 appearances for Italy, injured a ligament in his right knee in training and has been ruled out of the first two matches of the tournament.

The 23-year-old Fuser has played twice for Italy and was an unused member of last year's Six Nations squad.

Italy, who finished last last year, open their Six Nations campaign against defending champion Ireland on Feburary 7 at the Stadio Olimpico and then travel to England the following week.

Brunel has chosen a relatively inexperienced squad, with five uncapped players.
