After grabbing the opening try in the 14th minute of the game, Jones latched onto a Greig Laidlaw pass from a line-out in the 37th minute, cut through a gap and took two defenders – England's Mike Brown and Anthony Watson – with him over the line.

Although the play worked out, it would seem that it didn't initially go as planned.

"That's a planned move off that line-out and the initial move didn't go to plan, it was a little tighter than we expected. So to be honest, I didn't really fancy taking that ball from Greig [Laidlaw], but yeah I managed.

"I don't think they expected that line, so I managed to sneak through that first gap and I remember saying to the guys afterwards that I don't really have a great step. So when I saw two guys coming across, I just thought I got to go head down and try to go as far as I can.

"But yeah, managed to brush one of them off and drag the other one over with me – I was quite chuffed about that," Jones said.
