TEAM UPDATE: The Griquas’  already difficult Super Rugby Unlocked campaign suffered a devastating blow ahead of their clash against the Sharks on Friday.

Regular skipper Goerge Whitehead, who was set tor return to starting line-up for the Kimberley match, has been withdrawn due to an injury.

Whitehead broke his hand during the side’s captain run on Thursday, the Griquas revealed.

The 31-year-old has been replaced by Tinus de Beer at flyhalf.

While the inform scrumhalf Zak Burger will captain the side.

The Griquas have yet to record a win and are currently bottom of the Super Rugby Unlocked table with two points.

Griquas – revised: 15 Masixole Banda, 14 Ederies Arendse, 13 Harlon Klaasen, 12 Johnathan Francke, 11 Eduan Keyter, 10 Tinus de Beer, 9 Zak Burger (captain), 8 Johan Momsen, 7 Stefan Willemse, 6 Gideon van der Merwe, 5 Cameron Lindsay, 4 Adre Smith, 3 Ewald van der Westhuizen, 2 HJ Luus, 1 Mox Mxoli.
Replacements – from: Monde Hadebe, Andrew Beerwinkel, Madot Mabokela, Carl Els, CJ Velleman, Theo Maree, Daniel Kasende, Bandisa Ndlovu, Ewan Coetzee, Ashlon Davids.
