AUDIO: Sharks seek scrum redemption
The Sharks were dominated at scrum time in their opening Super Rugby match of the year against the Lions at Ellis Park, which they lost 19-26.
After having a bye in Round Two, the Durban-based have had plenty of time to sort out the problems in that aspect of their game.
"We have been working hard," said Sharks assistant coach Jaco Pienaar.
"We have been training hard. We went through the video and saw a few things that we needed to tweak and that we needed to work on and it is going to get better.
"We are sure it will be a better performance this weekend."
A big talking point ahead of the start of the season was Thomas du Toit's move from loosehead to tighthead and Pienaar believes it is just a matter of time before the prop becomes comfortable in his new role.
"It is all about his experience and getting time in the saddle and doing the job. He will get better as we go on, " Pienaar added.
The Waratahs also found life difficult in the scrums in their opening game against the Stormers in Round Two. However, the Sharks will be not taking them lightly up front.
"They [Waratahs] are a great team, they have a good pack. I think they put the Stormers' line-outs under a lot of pressure. They have quality players there.
"In the scrums, initially they were really good and I think the Stormers only got the better of them later on in the game, but they are a good pack. We think that they are going to work hard on that," said Pienaar.
