"I am really enjoying being part of this environment and I am at a stage in my career where I am continuing to learn," Miller said.

"I have decided to give myself another year to try and keep a starting spot, whether it's with two No7 on the field or not. At the same time, I am going to get the best competition here with Michael [Hooper] and I believe it will make me a better player.

"I do enjoy working with our coaches as well. They give me a lot of technical and tactical feedback, from which I can only learn," Miller added.

Waratahs Assistant Coach (Forwards) Simon Cron said Miller was a special talent.

"Will is a very competitive player who will compete to win in everything he does. He won’t take a backwards step at training so pushes everyone around him to get better," said Cron, who coached Miller at the Norths Club in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

"He is a genuine threat in attack due to his footwork and speed and compliments this with a huge work rate. He is a very good on baller so puts a lot of pressure on the opposition breakdown," Cron added.
