Blackadder spits the dummy
Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder's usually calm demeanour has changed dramatically this week, as he hopes to avoid his team becoming the first side to lose to the Highlanders.
The struggling Crusaders meet the winless Highlanders in Christchurch on Saturday and Blackadder was visibly irate as his side prepared for a crucial Super Rugby match.
The seven-time champions are in a place they haven't been for a long time – second-to-last in the New Zealand Conference and well down in the overall standings.
Blackadder says he realises everyone is uncomfortable with where they're at.
"We're not where we need to be, the players recognise that and they've got to drive that," he told Newstalk ZB.
"When there's a little bit of angst, I think a bit of anxiety, a little bit of tension's probably a good thing and it's probably where this team needs to be because we're far from happy."
It's an even worse feeling for Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph, with his side winless and at the bottom of the ladder.
He says he is feeling for the players but things turn around pretty quickly in Highlander land.
