Blue monday awaits Hurricanes lock

DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Hurricanes lock Scott Scrafton will face a disciplinary hearing on Monday after has received a Red Card for foul play during a Super Rugby match against Chiefs.

Scrafton received a Red Card as a result of his repeated offending in receiving 2 Yellow Cards during the match between the Chiefs and Hurricanes at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton onĀ  July 5, 2020.

The first Yellow Card offence was for a breach of Law 9.8 Repeated Team Infringements. The second Yellow Card offence was for a breach of Law 9.7a Intentional Offending.

The Case is to be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee which will take place on Monday 6 July via video-conference.

All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to the Foul Play Review Committee to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the Foul Play Review Committee.
