Brumbies in court battle with White
The Brumbies have taken former coach Jake White to court over AU$25,000 that he still owes them from a con-compete clause in his contract.
White left the Canberra franchise less than two years into a four-year contract and immediately took up a position as Director of Rugby at the Sharks.
Under the terms of his agreement with the Brumbies, White was prohibited from coaching another Super Rugby side until the end of 2015.
As a result he owed the Brumbies a total of around AU$200,000, the bulk of which was apparently paid by the Sharks earlier this year, and they have since lodged documents in the ACT Magistrates court to recoup the balance.
"Yes, we are in dispute with Jake White but we cannot comment further as it's a matter before the courts," Brumbies Chief Executive Doug Edwards told the Canberra Times.
White's decision to leave the Brumbies last year came just after he missed out on the Wallabies job to Ewen McKenzie and he has since taken the Sharks to the top of the standings five points clear of the second-placed Brumbies.
