Brumbies were defensively complete

The Brumbies were down 5-10 at the break and were under a bit of pressure in the final 40 minutes but managed to keep their opponents at bay.

"We were very good in the middle period of the second half, which was the turning point for us. We held them out on our line, despite giving away three penalties, so it was a bit of a complete performance defensively.

"We scored some nice tries at the end [of the game] and I think that gives the boys confidence going forward. We certainly had all the possession and wasted some opportunities in the first half but got it together in the second. At no stage was there a lack of confidence or composure," Larkham said.

Larkham can now breathe a sigh of relief as his side managed to snap a four-game losing streak.

"We have been chasing a win for five games. We have probably been through four weeks of frustrations. Our challenge was to find solutions [to the frustrations] and that's what the team did at the half-time break.

"We executed marginally better in the second half, the frustrating side is that you set up setpiece plays and don't get through them. You can't get frustrated in missing opportunities because sometimes the players make mistakes but you know they are doing their best," he added.
