Bulls' captain has served his time
Flip van der Merwe has served his three week suspension as well as recovered form a hamstring strain that has seen him out for three weeks.
The Springbok lock will be available for selection when the Bulls host the Brumbies in two weeks, after having a bye this week.
This return of personal may see a rest for veteran Springbok lock, Victor Matfield, who played three out of the four tour games when he was due to sit in the coaches box.
It could also be a timely rest for Matfield with Heyneke Meyer announcing his Springbok squad on the weekend.
The Springbok coach is seemingly a bit thin at lock with injuries to Eben Etzebeth and Pieter-Steph du Toit, perhaps facilitating a need for the 100 Test lock to return to international duty.
Other positive news for the Bulls is the return of Piet van Zyl who has been declared fit to join the squad in their preparations for the Brumbies after suffering a knee injury.
