Cheetahs under scrutiny from board
The Cheetahs management have expressed concerns as to the teams poor performance and log position, and are launching an enquiry to try and turn things around.
The Managing Director, and the Chairman of the Cheetahs, are pleased with the overall corporate governance of the company, however, there are concerns about the actual team's performance.
After seven games, the Cheetahs have nine points and are in 12th place on the points ladder.
These statistics, and the game produced by the team thus far, have been alarming, leading to the Managing Director and Chairman of the company getting involved.
The enquiry is more about determining a way forward, and turning things around, with a tough tour to Australia soon to be behind them.
There are eight remaining matches in the competition, and the board is optimistic that there is enough opportunity to pick up the results.
The Managing Director of the Cheetahs, after the tour of Australasia, will conduct in-depth discussions with the coaching and management team to analyse the situation.
With the aim to take the necessary actions to help the team, and to further assist them in the remaining portion of the tournament.
It has been noted that the Cheetahs fell victim to a series of injuries, and untimely withdrawals shortly before games.
They are also aware of the tough draw to date (especially on tour) – but the performance of the team requires an urgent attention and is currently under the spotlight.
"We stand firmly behind the team and will see no issue is over looked, in order to make sure that results improve in the second half of the Super Rugby competition," the Cheetahs board said.
