Chiefs join Savea tug-o'-war

The Super Rugby champion Chiefs looks set to be part of the tug-of-war with the Hurricanes over the services of All Black flyer Julian Savea.

According to New Zealand media reports the Chiefs have remained coy about whether they are actually chasing Julian Savea, but the rumour mills suggests they are actively pursuing him.

The reports suggest the Hurricanes are struggling to keep hold of the All Black wing.

And as and added hurdle the Crusaders are reportedly also in the hunt for his services.

Chiefs Chairman Dallas Fisher claimed they are not part of the pursuit, contrary to reports.

"We're in the market across the board, but at the moment we're looking at a number of other players," Fisher said.

"But it's a very liquid position this time of the year with player contracts I must admit."

Fisher said they have a couple of offers with other players which are of priority, particularly that of Sonny Bill Williams.
