Chiefs' lock crisis continues

Chiefs' lock Johan Bardoul is set to watch the remainder of the Super Rugby season from the sideline, as he has been ruled out with a knee injury.

Bardoul has suffered the same injury as his flatmate and fellow lock Michael Allardice, and ruptured the medial ligament in his right knee.

The Chiefs have had a collapse of injuries in the second row, with All Black and World Rugby Player of the Year Brodie Retallick, and Allardice both suffering set-backs.

This saw the Chiefs pull Ross Filipo out of retirement for their game against the Bulls last Friday to cover in the lock department.

The Chiefs injury woes in the second row continue as Bardoul is expected to be out of action for the next eight weeks.
