Deysel cited as expected

Sharks flank Jean Deysel, after receiving a red card against the Crusaders on Saturday, has been cited, as the Sharks prepare to again tussle with SANZAR.

Jean Deysel of the Sharks received a red card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Deysel is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (a) Punching or striking, in an incident that occurred in the 42nd minute of the match between the Sharks and Crusaders at Kings Park in Durban.

The case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR judicial officer Nicholas Davidson.

All SANZAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a judicial officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the officer.
