As was expected, Kolisi has undergone surgery on his ankle and will be out of action for the next three months.

Kolisi sustained the syndesmosis injury in the opening minutes of the Stormers' 21-60 Super Rugby quarterfinal loss to the Chiefs at Newlands this past weekend.

The Stormers' co-captain, Malherbe, who came off the bench in the 49th minute of the loss to the Chiefs, injured his neck and has also been ruled out for three months.

Nizaam Carr, who came on as a 63rd minute replacement and scored a try, suffered a shoulder injury.

He will be monitored by the Stormers medical staff and at this stage he is expected to be out for two weeks.
