The Sharks left for Australia last Saturday and Du Preez is happy with his team's preparations leading up to the clash.

"We got rid of the jet lag by now," said Du Preez.

"We were training in the afternoons, so we have given the guys enough time to get the jet lag sorted out and that has been good.

"The guys have got a lot of energy and we had two really good practice sessions."

Du Preez said the youngsters in the squad are enjoying the experience of touring.

"I think there is really a nice spirit in the team.

"I said to the guys on tour that the number one thing is teamwork. They [youngsters] are part of the team and I think they are really enjoying it," Du Preez added.

The match against the Reds will also be Du Preez's debut as head coach in Super Rugby.

"To be honest I just want to get the first game going now. I am really looking forward to the challenge," he said.
