Du Toit: We are going to give it our all

The Lions are overwhelming favourites for the clash in Johannesburg after an impressive season far, which has seen them only lose once since February.

The Lions have also beaten the Sharks twice already, 34-29 in Johannesburg and 27-10 in Durban last weekend.

"At the end of the day we are just going to give it our all," said Sharks prop Thomas du Toit.

"I think the pressure was on them [Lions] last weekend and we let them off a bit and I don't think we are planning on doing that this weekend."

Du Toit thinks that Saturday's encounter will be more like a Test match.

"It changes completely. I don't really know how it is, but I am guessing it is like Test-match rugby.

"It doesn't matter how you win and it doesn't matter if it's dirty. The end outcome is what's important and with this Sharks team we are going to do anything we possibly can to get the win on the weekend," he added.

Despite losing to the Lions twice already, Du Toit believes it will be a bad idea if the Sharks drastically change the way they play for the quarterfinal.

"I don't think we are going to change the way that we play. I think we play a bit more conservative than they do, but we still going to up the intensity that we didn't have here at Kings Park.

"We are definitely not going to become loose – we are going to play a very intense structured game," said Du Toit.

Du Toit's expertise is in the scrums and that is an area where the Sharks will try and put the Lions under pressure during the match.

"That is the platform that they play-off. Luckily it is our platform as well, so we are going to try our best to have the perfect base at the scrums and at the line-outs for our backline to play and disrupt as many of their ball as we can," Du Toit added.
