Dyantyi moves to midfield for Sharks clash
TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Lions head coach Swys de Bruin has revealed his team to face the Sharks in a Super Rugby Round Eight clash in Johannesburg on Friday.
Flank Cyle Brink makes his return to the playing field this weekend after seven months on the sideline with a knee injury.
The injury, sustained during a Springbok training session, was a bit of a freak accident as someone fell on him during training and he tore his right patella tendon just below the knee cap.
In the backline, Aphiwe Dyantyi moves to the midfield take over the No.13 jersey, while Tyrone Green moves from fullback to wing for Friday’s match.
Andries Coetzee returns to the team and will take over the No.15 duties.
*Meanwhile, Rudolf Straeuli, CEO of the Lions Rugby Company (LRC), confirmed that coach Swys de Bruin has committed to the LRC for another two years.
“Swys will remain at the Lions and has extended his contract until 2021 with the franchise. Lions Rugby remains a system driven Franchise focused on stability within the structures of our players and coaches,” Straeuli said.
