Le Roux jumped to claim a high ball, after which Emery made contact with the Springbok's legs and caused him to land in a dangerous fashion. After consultation with the TMO, the referee awarded a red card.

Following initial consideration by the SANZAAR Duty Judicial Officer Chris Morris, Emery will appear, by video conference, in front of Jannie Lubbe SC (Chairman), De Wet Barry and John Langford.
