Enever on a mission to succeed

Enever is entering his second season with the Brumbies, having signed from the Reds after the 2014 Super Rugby season.

Enever got his first chance with the Brumbies after Wallabies lock Sam Carter went down with a knee injury in the middle of the 2015 season.

The Sunshine Coast born Enever repaid the faith shown in him by head coach Stephen Larkham, playing in 12 games throughout the season and finishing the season as the joint winner of the Shawn Mackay Young Talent Award with fellow lock Rory Arnold.

Enever used the experience he gained throughout the Super Rugby season to put together an impressive 2015 campaign with the University of Canberra Vikings in the National Rugby Championship.

The lock led from the front during set piece, particularly the line-out, as the Vikings made a memorable run to the grand final.

Enever on a mission to succeedNow in to his fourth season as a professional rugby player, Enever said he had set himself some targets for the coming season.

"I've set myself a goal to start games and play a lot of footy this year," Enever told the Brumbies website.

"I look forward to being a strong part of the team and hopefully putting my hand up for selection."

Enever said the presence of guys with Wallabies experience like Sam Carter and Rory Arnold would push him to improve.

"If anything having those good players in the same position will make us all work harder," Enever said.

"Those blokes being Wallabies and having been members of the Wallabies squad it drives me because I want to be a Wallaby as well.

"I'm good mates with them and we work hard during all our training sessions but when it comes down to it hopefully we make selection a bit of a headache for the coaches."

Enever believes the Brumbies have the right mix of players to make a real dent in the Super Rugby competition this season.

"We've retained a lot of quality players," Enever said.

"You can see on paper that we've got the best players running around in Australia. Last year we went to the semifinal but didn't quite make it, we want to go one further and win it this year.

"We've got the players who can do it so we'll just keep on working hard. I think we’re going to be in a good spot."
