Folau's wife not happy with World Rugby
REACTION: Wallabies fullback Israel Folau’s wife Maria Folau has called out World Rugby after her husband’s one-match suspension for dangerous play was upheld.
Maria Folau’s resentment originates from the controversial yellow card incident which occurred during the third Test against Ireland at Allianz Stadium in Sydney last weekend.
Israel Folau was shown a yellow card before being given a citing commissioner’s warning following two separate incidents involving Ireland captain O’Mahony in Sydney, where the Six Nations champions won 20-16 to clinch the series 2-1.
While, Folau has not publicly commented on the controversial ban, which will see him miss the Waratah’s crucial match against the Rebels on Friday, wife Maria took to Twitter to display her resentment over the debacle.
The New Zealand netball star has labelled it as injustice and pointed out Rob Kearney’s challenge on the Wallaby fullback during the series didn’t receive any sanction.
Kearney was penalised on the field but was not cited or further punished by World Rugby.
Is this not deemed as dangerous/foul play?? @WorldRugby #fairquestion pic.twitter.com/pqbPMtbAdC
