Force call in scrumhalf cover
Former Brumbies and Waratahs scrumhalf Josh Holmes could be called in as emergency cover for the injury plagued Western Force squad.
The Force's scrumhalf stocks took a blow during their 45-19 victory over the Reds, with James Stannard injuring his ankle.
Stannard has been used largely as a flyhalf this season, but also offers another option at his preferred position in the No.9 jersey.
The Force lost 22-yar-old Justin Turner a week earlier with a knee injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for about two months, leaving Brett Sheehan as the only recognised scrumhalf available to coach Richard Graham.
Holmes has been playing in the French top 14 with Bourgoin, but is now expected to fly into Perth and join the Force for the remainder of the Super Rugby season according to AAP.
If the paperwork can be completed on time Holmes could be in the matchday squad as early as this week for the clash against the Chiefs on Friday.
The severity of Stannard's injury will only be known on Tuesday.
