Hall leaves Kings confused

Hall is currently plying his trade in the French Pro D2 league with Oyonnax but this decision – about him remaining in France – comes as a shock to the Nelson Mandela Bay franchise.

"The Southern Kings, whom Hall is expected to play for in the upcoming Super Rugby season, would like to state that the franchise has not been informed of a decision for the player to remain in France.

"We have had no official contact with the player or his agent in that regard. What we have been informed about is that there are some issues regarding his contract in France.

"On our side, we are seeking clarity from his agent and also legal advice in the interim," Southern Kings COO Charl Crous confirmed in a statement.

The Kings are due to get their Super Rugby campaign underway against the Jaguares in Port Elizabeth on February 25.
