Coles is still struggling with a torn calf muscle with his last match being against the Highlanders on March 18.

"He's [Coles] pretty good. Obviously he's frustrated because he's a frustrated, angry man anyway. Or can be," Hurricanes head coach Chris Boyd told stuff.co.nz.

"He's trying to be as philosophical as he can be, but he knows he's just got to be patient."

Coles injured his right knee in the win over the Highlanders, but his calf then went while rehabilitating the original injury.

Hurricanes still without Coles and Milner-Skudder"If you get a shoulder injury, you can still put [a] load through it," said Boyd.

"The more load you put through it [calves], the more it creaks, and if you put too much load through it, then you've got to go back [to the start] again," Boyd said.

Meanwhile, fullback Nehe Milner-Skudder is still wearing a moon boot after fracturing bones in his foot on March 10 against the Chiefs

Milner-Skudder was due to see a specialist on Monday, but his return to action won't be anytime soon.

"He won't play the next couple of weeks," said Boyd.

In other injury news, Matt Proctor remains sidelined with concussion symptoms, while, No.8 Blade Thomson is expected to have a full shoulder reconstruction and will miss the rest of the season.

Lock Michael Fatialofa will have surgery to repair his dislocated kneecap.
