Injured Scarra in Stormers squad
Ntubeni has been suffering from a calf injury for some time now and looks to be one of the major concerns for coach Robbie Fleck heading into this year's Super Rugby competition. There is no mention of a possible return, but he may miss the start of the season.
There are also some notable absentees to the training squad due commitments with other teams. They include Schalk Burger (Suntory Sungoliath), Eben Etzebeth (NTT-Docomo Red Hurricanes), Juan de Jongh (Springbok Sevens), Cheslin Kolbe (Springbok Sevens) and Cornal Hendricks (Springbok Sevens).
"The players worked incredibly hard over November and December and had a good break, so we are looking forward to picking up where we left off last year in terms of the way we want to play and our conditioning," said Fleck.
"The purpose of the camp is to build on our philosophy of our playing style and our culture."
The training squad that will be travelling to Wilderness for a pre-season camp on Tuesday, January 12 and will return to Cape Town on Saturday, January 16.
"Traditionally we have been to Hermanus which has been really good for us, but we decided to visit Wilderness and George this year for a change of environment," Fleck added.
