Jaguares rue 'missed opportunity'

The Sharks edged the Argentinians 19-15 and although the visitors were dominated in certain aspects of the game, including the scrums, Sanchez felt the win was there for the taking.

"I am a little upset about the game," said Sanchez. "We missed an important opportunity – we did not play very well, but we were just four points behind in the end and we could have won and gone to the top of the table."

Jaguares rue 'missed opportunity'Sanchez said their discipline on the field is something that will need to be addressed before their meeting with the Chiefs in two weeks’ time. They picked up four yellow cards in the tournament so far, two in Round One against the Cheetahs and another two against the Sharks.

"We will have to review it. We could just not put it together today and we are going make a step up for the Chiefs, which is going to be another litmus test," he added.

Captain Agustin Creevy was also not satisfied with his team's performance in Durban.

"We could not accomplish what we planned in the week and did not play at the highest level," said Creevy.

"It became difficult for us and we are not satisfied. The long faces exemplify how we feel – we are sad.

"I think at times we were the better team, but we could not take advantage with the talent that we had."

The Jaguares head home now after being in South Africa for a month and they are looking forward to playing their first-ever Super Rugby match at home against the Chiefs.

"Playing at home will be very nice for all of us," said coach Raul Perez. "It will be an opportunity to form a partnership with our people and our fans."
