Jaguares star doubtful for semifinal against Brumbies
INJURY UPDATE: The Jaguares are playing a waiting game with one of their star players ahead of their Super Rugby semifinal against the Brumbies in Buenos Aires on Friday.
The Argentinian side revealed that star lock Guido Petti is doubtful for match. The 24-year-old has still not recovered fully from an ankle sprain he suffered in his team’s 21-16 quarterfinal win over the Chiefs last weekend.
The good news for the Jaguares is that wing Ramiro Moyano will be available for Friday’s match.
Moyano’s last appearance for the team was during their Australasian tour and his presence will be a boost on attack.
The Jaguares also confirmed that forwards Marcos Kremer and Enrique Pieretto will be available for the match after recovering from their injuries they picked up against the Chiefs.
It will be the Jaguares’ first-ever appearance in a Super Rugby semifinal.
They finished the regular season on top of the South African Conference and second in the overall standings with 11 wins and five losses from 16 matches.
The Brumbies reached the semis after their convincing 38-13 win over the Sharks in last weekend’s quarterfinal.
The Australians finished on top of the Australian Conference and third in the overall standings.
