Jaguares struggling with confidence

The result ended a miserable tour of New Zealand and Japan for the Super Rugby newcomers, which also saw them lose to the Blues, Hurricanes and Crusaders.

"We lost to a better team, the result was fair. All the games are tough for us. They [Sunwolves] were more intent and had a better attitude towards the game.

"We have to work on our confidence and get back on track to restarting the game the way we want to. We want to reverse this situation we find ourselves in and mentally we need to toughen up," Perez said.

Meanwhile, Emiliano Boffelli lamented his side's performance.

"It was a match that we had to win but now we go back home empty-handed. We must improve our attitude, if not then the upcoming matches are going to be extremely difficult. Attitude is something that cannot be trained, it is up to each individual to improve it.

"It is difficult to lose but we remain positive. We are playing against the best [teams in the Southern Hemisphere] and we need to remember that it is our first year in this [Super Rugby] tournament. However, we need to improve," Boffelli said.

Captain Agustin Creevy remained positive, however, he knows they will now need to put in extra effort ahead of their remaining fixtures.

"There were improvements but we keep making the same mistakes over and over. We must do self-criticism and move on. The future does not allow us to relax. We have to train more and make twice the effort to improve.

"We know that every opponent from this point forward is going to be difficult. We need to head home and restart from there as the Southern Kings are up next for us," Creevy said.

The Jaguares will enjoy home comforts on April 30 as they welcome the Southern Kings to the Velez Sarsfield Stadium in Buenos Aires.
