Kuridrani raring to go after long break
Kuridrani has established himself as the premier outside centre in Australia, his hard running and solid defence giving opposing backlines nightmares as they prepare to play against him.
Kuridrani became a regular for the Wallabies after the 2013 Spring Tour and has gone from strength to strength in the gold jersey.
After a successful 2015 season with the Brumbies and Wallabies, Kuridrani earned selection for the 2015 World Cup squad where he featured in all but one of the team’s fixtures.
The 194cm centre played a key role in the Wallabies eventual run to the Final, starring in the quarterfinal against Scotland in particular. Although the Wallabies were unable to leave with William Webb-Ellis trophy, Kuridrani gave a good account of himself on the world's biggest stage.
Following the World Cup Kuridrani took a break from rugby but returned to the Brumbies set up in early January, joining the side for their training camp in Thredbo.
Kuridrani said there was a good feeling around the squad.
"Pre-season has been going well," Kuridrani told Brumbies.com.au.
"All the boys have been working really hard and we're looking forward to having a good season."
The 24-year-old said the break from rugby had done wonders for him.
"It was good, I had a really good break after the World Cup and now I'm back fresh, my body is feeling really good now.”
"For me this year my focus is to improve on my rugby from where I left off last year. I want to be consistent throughout the season and play good rugby."
Over the off-season break the Brumbies signed a number of new backline players including Tomas Cubelli, Nick Jooste, Andrew Smith and Aidan Toua.
Kuridrani said the new members of the squad meant everyone was fighting hard for their places.
"There's competition all around the backline," Kuridrani said.
"For me with Smithy coming back there's a bit of competition but I'm just trying to work on my game and keep improving. We'll see what the coaches pick on game day.”
After a few years with the Brumbies and Wallabies, Kuridrani is one of the more experienced players in the Brumbies squad.
Kuridrani hopes to use that experience to help lead his young teammates throughout the season.
"Bernie [Stephen Larkham] has been talking to me about talking to the young guys," Kuridrani said.
"They're starting to look up to me now, I've been doing a little bit at training and trying to learn how to do that better from Christian [Lealiifano]”
The Brumbies will kick-off their 2016 Super Rugby season on Friday, February 26 against the Hurricanes at GIO Stadium in Canberra.
