Kuridrani staying in Aus

 

Kuridrani joins Wallabies Nick Phipps, Sean McMahon, Rob Horne, Sam Carter and Scott Fardy who have committed to the Australian Rugby Union in recent months.

 

The 23-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the Wallabies rising stars since his maiden Test campaign in 2013, where he has since worn the gold jersey 20 times scoring four tries.

 

Kuridrani is highly respected amongst his peers, having polled strongly with 202 votes in the John Eales medal in his last international season. 

 

However, the Fijian-born flyer still feels the need to improve as a player.

 

“I am very happy to continue to playing my rugby in Australia," he said.

 

"The Brumbies have been very supportive and I am passionate about playing for the Wallabies.

 

“Super Rugby is the best place for me to continue to improve and challenge myself to become the best Rugby player I can be.

 

“It was a very enjoyable experience under Michael Chieka on the recent November Tour, and there is a lot of competition for spots in the Wallabies team, especially in the backline.

 

“I will continue to work hard with my Brumbies teammates to ensure that I can wear the gold jumper again this season and at the World Club.”

 

Originally from Fiji, Kuridrani moved to Australia with his family in 2007 when he represented Australia in Sevens in the Sevens World Series. 

 

Before a brief stint in the Reds Academy, Kuridrani attended a Brumbies Talent ID camp in 2012, where he was offered a two-year contract to play Super Rugby in the nation’s capital.

 

Kuridrani grew up in the same Fijian village as former Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri.
