Larkham hails Brumbies' attitude against Bulls
Wearing jerseys with their mother's names stitched on the front for extra inspiration, the home side dominated throughout the match to record a 23-6 win over the Bulls, making it the Brumbies' first win after two straight losses.
Larkham said there was great energy from his players throughout the match.
"The effort, the attitude and the will to go out there and play well has been spot on for the last couple of weeks," said Larkham.
"All the hard work the boys are doing, it's getting to that point where the season's pretty tense for us but it really paid off tonight."
"It's pleasing to finally get a result."
Larkham made reference to a number of key players who heavily contributed to the side's clear dominance on the field, including utility back Robbie Coleman, James Dargaville (in his first full match of 2016) and Nigel Ah Wong who scored one of two trie in the match.
“The guys who are sort of coming in, Robbie Coleman as well, for these injured guys are really stepping up and proving that they deserve to get this shot," Larkham said.
"Robbie was really good with the attack," Larkham said.
"There wasn't a lot of holes, particularly for the inside-backs, but Robbie kept enduring out there and defended really well. If the ball wasn't so slippery then they probably would've scored more tries.
"It's a good opportunity for these guys. We had James Dargaville playing on the wing tonight and he played his first 80-minute game and it was an outstanding performance from him tonight. Same with Nigel Ah Wong on the other wing."
Co-captain Stephen Moore said he was impressed with Argentinian scrumhalf Tomas Cubelli, who dived over for one of the tries of the night.
"I thought he was really good. He threatened around the ruck, his kicking game was strong, his work rate was massive so he's got the license there," Moore said.
"He goes for it, he sees it, keeps a pace in the game and it paid off tonight."
Moore said he's pulled up fine after missing last week's match through a calf injury.
"I had a full training week so I felt good all week and I guess that's something the coaches manage all through the season and we've seen that last week.
"That's one of the challenges each season and every team faces that, making sure you've constantly got all of your players fresh and playing at their best so that's a challenge that every team has so I felt good."
The Brumbies will now turn their attention to a huge match against the Melbourne Rebels at AAMI Park next weekend.
"Every game for us now is massive, particularly before the June series so we got two games before that break and they're both critical so they've played really well this year," Moore said.
"They're a very well organised side, they're very clear about how they want to play and very strong physically so its gonna be a good battle so you always look forward to these Australian games."
