Le Roux earns his rest

Springbok fullback Willie le Roux will sit out the Cheetahs clash with the Reds this weekend due to an agreement with SA Rugby.

Le Roux will be replaced by Coenie van Wyk in the starting line-up as the only change to the team that beat the Western Force last Saturday in Perth.

This will mark the ninth Super Rugby encounter between the Cheetahs and the Reds, since their first match in March 2006.

The Reds are leading the way with five wins to three.

It will also be the fifth time the teams meet at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, since the first encounter.

The Cheetahs has won three previous matches in Bloemfontein to the Reds one.

The last time the Cheetahs hosted the Reds was in May 2013, with the Bloemfontein outfit winning 27-13.

The Reds, however, won the encounter last season at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, 43-33.

Eight tries were scored in this match – five by the Reds and three by the Cheetahs.

Cheetahs: 15 Coenie van Wyk, 14 Cornal Hendricks, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Raymond Rhule, 10 Joe Pietersen, 9 Sarel Pretorius, 8 Willie Britz, 7 Boom Prinsloo, 6 Heinrich Brussow, 5 Francois Uys (captain), 4 Carl Wegner, 3 Coenie Oosthuizen, 2 Torsten van Jaarsveld, 1 BG Uys.

Replacements: 16 Stephan Coetzee, 17 Danie Mienie, 18 Maks van Dyk, 19 Steven Sykes, 20 Tienie Burger, 21 Tian Meyer, 22 Willie du Plessis, 23 Ryno Benjamin.

Venue: Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein

Kick-off: 19.10 (03.10 Sunday, April 19 AEST, 17.10 GMT)
