Lions lose Kriel for tour

Kriel picked up a knee injury in the 24-21 win over the Jaguares at Ellis Park on Friday.

He will not accompany the team on their three-match tour to Australian and will stay in behind South Africa to recover.

The Lions medical staff said they expect Kriel be ready in three weeks.

Flying wing Madosh Tambwe will stay behind and will join up with the South African Under 20 squad – currently preparing for the Junior World Championship, which starts in Georgia next month.  

The Lions face the Western Force in Perth next Saturday (April 29), followed by encounters with the Rebels in Melbourne (May 6) and Brumbies in Canberra (May 12).
