The South African-born scrumhalf impressed with his performances this season and he will be sorely missed by the Force.

"I'm pretty biased but I think Ryan's the best nine, the form nine in Australia at the moment so it means a lot for us to have him," Force coach Dave Wessels told rugby.com.au after the match against the Blues.

Meanwhile, Ben McCalman is set to return to action in Sunday's match against the Southern Kings, while Adam Coleman (calf) is likely to be back after the side's Round Eight bye.
