Muliaina blow for Chiefs

Mils Muliaina has been scheduled to have elbow surgery this week, effectively ruling him out of the remainder of the Super Rugby competition.

The veteran All Black has played his role in the Chiefs set up, shifting from fullback to wing when required and even providing utility cover from the bench.

The experience that Muliaina brings to the field will be missed as the Chiefs continue to deal with another major loss in that of All Black flyhalf, Aaron Cruden.

Cruden injured his thumb and is only expected back in the latter rounds as he races against time to recover.

The Chiefs next face the Crusaders who are returning from a successful South African tour which saw them win both their games.

This is in contrast to the Chiefs who only managed to draw both of theirs.
