Cory Brown and Marty Veale have become the latest coaches to head to Japan to join the Sunwolves.

Brown, who resigned from his job as high performance and skills coach at the Highlanders, has signed a two-year contract as the Sunwolves attack coach for next season.

Brown will link up his older brother Tony Brown at the franchise. Tony has been named the Sunwolves head coach following Jamie Joseph’s appointment as head coach of Japan national side.

The other new face completing the coaching team is Marty Veale. The 41-year-old will join the franchise as their new scrum coach.

While Scott Hansen retains his position as defence coach.

Commenting on Cory Brown’s decision to head to Japan, Highlanders CEO Roger Clark revealed to Stuff that “There are a lot of opportunities out there for them,”

“That’s why we’re seeing so many New Zealand coaches and players [leaving]. Obviously, they are valued all around the globe as well as New Zealand.

“We are in a global market competition-wise and that’s not going to stop any time soon.”
