No Super Rugby 'Chance' for Peni
NEWS: Brumbies wing Chance Peni’s Super Rugby season is over before it even started.
Peni has been suspended for six weeks after being found guilty of dangerous tip tackle during a club rugby game in Canberra, the news.comau reported.
The wing, who has been suspended for a third time this year, returned to action after serving a five-week suspension for a dangerous tackle during a Super Rugby match against the Crusaders in April.
According to news.comau, the 24-year-old acknowledged last week he needs to work on his tackling technique and has promised to make adjustments after switching codes.
“Coming from rugby league, I was always told to hit a bit higher and try to slow them down,” Peni said.
“But I’ve got to learn I’m not playing rugby league any more and I’ve got to get that contact lower,”
The Brumbies will welcome back David Pocock, Scott Sio, Joe Powell, Rory Arnold, Folau Fainga’a and Tom Banks.
But prop Allan Alaalatoa is facing a test to play after a training incident ruled him out of Wallabies duties,
The Brumbies take on the Hurricanes on Saturday
