Pain in the neck for Wallaby duo

Wallabies Hugh McMeniman and Pat McCabe both suffered suspected neck injuries in the Brumbies' comfortable win over the Western Force in Perth on Saturday.

McCabe was sent to hospital for scans after damaging his neck in the first-half, whilst McMeniman was stretchered off after 36 minutes.

Both players missed large parts of last season due to injury, and could face more time on the sidelines.

The 25-year-old McCabe was in just his second game back since breaking his neck while playing against the British and Irish Lions last year and McMeniman, who missed the second half of last season after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction, hurt himself driving for the tryline.

The Brumbies were dealt another blow when David Pocock injured his reconstructed left knee in the 71st minute.

Pocock was assessed on the ground before walking to the bench with only a slight limp.
