Pulu swaps Chiefs for Blues

Pulu made his debut for the Chiefs against the Blues in March 2012 and has since played 51 games for the two-time Super Rugby champions.

Due to injury and All Blacks Sevens commitments, the 26-year-old has not yet played for the Chiefs in 2016.

Chiefs boss Dave Rennie acknowledged the significant contribution Pulu has made to the Chiefs over the past four seasons.

“When Gus decided that his future lay with the Blues, the Chiefs were in Argentina," said Rennie.

"But he refused to sign that contract until we returned, wanting to have a face to face and explain his reasons. That says a lot about his character.

"He has loved being a Chief but also wants to be an All Black again and guaranteed game time will help.

"I understand he has to do what’s best for him and his family. We will miss him."
