Rebels don't impress Oosthuizen much

The Sharks, who enjoyed a bye last weekend, take on the travelling Rebels at Kings Park on Saturday.

The Rebels are currently sitting at the bottom of the combined Super Rugby standings, but they did manage to cause a minor upset when they edged the Brumbies to secure their first win of the season.

"The Rebels and the Brumbies always have a tough game because I know the Brumbies always struggle against the Rebels, so it is nothing new," Oosthuizen told reporters in Durban.

Oosthuizen said he and his teammates know what to expect from the Australian side.

"They are a typical Australian side that loves to throw the ball around and that is our challenge for the week – to stop them from getting momentum and playing our game plan," he added.

The 24-year-old lock has been the Sharks' enforcer in the physical exchanges this season and he was recently called-up to be a part of Allister Coetzee's Springbok training squad two weeks ago in Stellenbosch.

"It is always nice to get a lot of game time and develop your own game. I think I have been getting better each season and with every game, so I am really enjoying the game time and I just want to do the best for the team.

Oosthuizen added: "I did not expect that [Springbok call-up], but at the end the day it always warms your heart."
