Reds boss 'pleased as punch'

Reds coach Richard Graham was 'pleased as punch' with his team's 43-33 bonus-point victory over the Cheetahs in their first home game of the season.

The Reds outscored the Cheetahs by five tries to three in their Super Rugby Round Four encounter in Brisbane on Friday.

The win lifted the Reds – who had come off a 5-32 hammering at the hands of the Waratahs the previous week – as they head to South Africa with two wins from their opening three games.

"We're heading on our two-week tour of South Africa with two wins out of our opening three games and a bonus point from this match, so that's a good result for us," Graham said.

"We'll review this game and see what aspects we need to address.

"I felt we improved in a number of areas and look forward to our two weeks in South Africa."

Wallaby flyhalf Quade Cooper landed 18 points to become the highest point scorer in Super Rugby history for the Reds.

Cooper said he was honoured to set a new marker for the Reds in Super Rugby.

"I couldn't be more excited about being in the history books for something like that for Queensland," Cooper said.

"I've spoken about my love and passion for Queensland and to be in the history books as Queensland's highest points scorer in Super Rugby, I'm very proud of that."

The Reds now depart for South Africa on Saturday, where they face the Sharks in Durban next Saturday and the Lions in Johannesburg a week later.
