Richards debuts for the Lions

Lions head coach Johan Ackermann has named Sevens flyer Mark Richards in his team to face the Sharks at Ellis Park on Saturday.

In the forwards, Julian Redelinghuys will start at tighthead prop for the match. Jaco Kriel also returns to the starting line-up at flank in replace of Derick Minnie.

Additionally, Ackermann has made two changes to his starting backline with Francois de Klerk starting at scrumhalf. Mark Richards is also set to make his Vodacom Super Rugby debut at left wing.

Ross Cronje gets a rest and falls completely out of the match day 23, which sees Lohan Jacobs move to the substitutes.

Jacobs will also celebrate his Vodacom Super Rugby debut should he come off the bench.
